KDTU Announces New Midwest dates, Brooklyn Bowl, Jazzfest in April
The Tiny Universe will be heading back out on the road this week, making stops in Phoenix at the Compound Grill on Thursday, Flagstaff at the Orpheum on Friday and the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA on Saturday. This will be KDTU’s first hometown show since the release of Brother’s Keeper and many surprises await. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will be returning to the Midwest for a series of shows in April. KDTU kicks off at the Majestic Theatre in Madison, WI on Thursday the 15th, plays the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis for the first time on Friday the 16th, and wraps up with a stop in Chicago at the Vic Theatre on Saturday the 17th. A limited amount of pre-sale tickets will be available this Wednesday at 10am CST from KDTU Ticketing, and tickets will go on sale to the public through all normal channels on Friday March 12th. Come Bowling in Brooklyn with KDTU in April for two nights at the Brooklyn Bowl on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th. Tickets are on sale now and are only $15! KDTU and GBA at Jazzfest… The Tiny Universe will be performing only once this year, playing a post Panic late night party at Tipitina’s that starts at 2am on Thursday (Friday morning) April 29th and continues until sunrise. You will have two chances to catch The Greyboy Allstars, the first is at Tipitina’s late night on Friday night (Saturday morning) April 30th and the second is on the Riverboat Creole Queen for a trip up and down the Mississippi on Saturday May 1st at 9pm. The Riverboat leaves from downtown New Orleans and will feature Kirk Joseph’s 504 Brass Band kicking off the party on the deck… In other news, The Greyboy Allstars are in the studio this week working on the follow up to 2007’s What Happened To TV? and preparing new cuts for their upcoming tour in Colorado in late March. The band plays in Avon (Vail), CO at Agave on the 24th, performs a free daytime show at Winter Park Resort on the 25th and will blow it out in Aspen on the 26th at the base of the gondola. For those of you not in the mountains, GBA returns to the front range for a very special night at the Ogden Theatre in Denver on Saturday the 27th with special guests to be announced. The Allstars will then venture to Jackson Hole, WY for a performance at the new Pink Garter Theatre. Don’t miss your chance to get a sneak preview of the new record.
